Task Force
The Task Force has a limited membership and is currently full. New members are invited to join by the Independent Expert once a space opens up. Another way to get involved is by supporting local PWA organizations in your country. Brief information about the Task Force is as follows.
Terms of Reference for the Task Force
- In-person multi-stakeholder coordination platform:
- Coordinate activities on the continent and internationally
- Share experience, knowledge and best practices
- Develop Communications to advance Targets of the Regional Action Plan
- Support online coordination platform
- Provide input on the online development, content and maintenance of the online platform
- Monitor indicators by reviewing submitted work by country
- Other relevant work
Membership type
- Core members: Current core members are from the following organizations and entities: The UN Independent Expert on the enjoyment of human rights by persons with albinism, the Regional Forum on Albinism, OHCHR Eastern Africa, UNESCO Mozambique, Open Society Foundations, Open Society Initiative of Eastern Africa (OSIEA), Open Society Initiative of Western Africa (OSIWA), International Organization for Migration, Mozambique and the International Bar Association.
- Observing members: Any organization with experience / planned work on the issue with multi-national capacity in the Africa region can:
- Participate at Task Force meetings as Observers
- Request to join the Core membership (core membership is subject to approval of current Core members)
Commitment
- Online meetings will ordinarily occur once every month-and-half or every six weeks.
- Extraordinary meetings can occur on an as-needed basis.
